You can create robots on Browse AI without installing the Chrome extension by using Robot Studio, prebuilt robots, or installing the extension on a separate Chrome profile.

Robot Studio - our recommended solution

Robot Studio is our web-based platform that doesn't require any browser extensions. It works across various browsers, not just Chrome, making it the recommended method for training robots on Browse AI.

Here's how to get started:

  1. Log in to your Browse AI account

  2. Click on Start Training Robot

  3. Enter the URL of the website you want to extract data from

  4. Select Use Robot Studio

  5. Choose what data to capture:

    • Use From a list to extract repeating data elements

    • Use Just text to extract specific text that's not part of a list

    • Use Capture Screenshot to grab visual elements

When capturing a list, the robot will scan it and suggest recommended datasets with labeled data columns. You can also manually select and label data points as needed.

After capturing your data, you can:

  • Review the output in the data preview

  • Name your list

  • Define how many rows to extract

  • Select pagination type

  • Make changes by removing data points or entire lists if needed

Once everything looks good, give your robot a descriptive name and approve it.

Prebuilt Robots

Using Prebuilt Robots does not require installing a browser extension as the robots are already trained, but you will be limited to the available robots in the library.

If you need quick access to common data sources, our Prebuilt Robot Library of 200+ robots might have what you need:

  1. Browse or search for robots that match your needs

  2. Click Use This Robot to access the data

While prebuilt robots don't require any setup, they're limited to the available options in our library and can't be customized for specific needs.

Chrome extension on a separate profile

If you prefer the Chrome extension but have privacy concerns:

  1. Create a new Chrome profile (not connected to your primary Google account)

  2. Install the Browse AI extension on this profile

  3. Use the extension only when needed for robot creation

This approach prevents the extension from accessing data in your primary profile while still allowing you to use all extension features.
