How can I only keep new rows in my Google Sheet and have older rows deleted automatically?
Browse AI Google Sheets integration only appends data to your spreadsheet by default. This article walks you through how you can use the Google Sheets addon to automatically delete old rows and keep your spreadsheet tidy.
1. First, you must install the Browse AI for Sheets add-on. After installing the add-on, in the menu bar, click on Extensions and login with your Browse AI account.
2. After logging into your account. Click on Browse AI for Sheets and then click on Experimental Features.
3. In the opened sidebar, click on the "Auto-delete old rows when I open the spreadsheet" checkbox to enable Auto-deleting Old Rows and enable the three inputs below.
- Check the box to enable the fields below it.
- You can change how long you want to keep data. In the screenshot above, for example, we chose ten days. It means that data captured over ten days ago will be automatically deleted from now on.
- In the second input, write the header of a column with the capture dates in it. The add-on will use this date column to find out how old each row is.
- The Sheet Name input should be set to the name of the current sheet in which you want to delete old rows automatically.
IMPORTANT: Make sure that your sheet has a column for the date. Otherwise, the auto-delete feature will not work correctly.
4. From now on, every time you open this sheet, the Browse AI for Sheets add-on will remove captured data older than 10 days automatically.
If you have added any additional columns, please note that the auto-delete feature deletes the entire row, including any cells in that row that you have manually populated.
You can always disable this feature or edit the settings by going to the menu and clicking on Experimental Features.
