The Browse AI Google Sheets integration appends data to your spreadsheet by default. This article walks you through how you can use Browse AI's Google Sheets add-on to automatically delete duplicate rows to keep only the most up to date data in your spreadsheet.

Prerequisites

  • An approved robot where you've already enabled the Google Sheets integration

  • The Google Sheet that you'd like to remove duplicates

Quick set up guide

Open your Google Sheet, and click slick Extensions in the menu bar. Select Browse AI for Sheets and Login. Login to your Browse AI account.

Once logged in, go back to your Google Sheet, click slick Extensions in the menu bar. Select Browse AI for Sheets and Experimental features.

In the opened sidebar, click on the Auto-delete duplicate rows when I open this spreadsheet checkbox to enable the feature and enable the two inputs below.

  • Comparison columns: enter the column headers you want to compare (e.g., title, description)

  • Sheet name: enter the exact name of your current sheet

When you've done select Save changes.

Note: only specify which columns it to compare to detect duplicate rows. In this example below, if the title and description in any rows are identical, it will delete the newly added rows which are duplicates.

How it works

The add-on compares rows based on your selected columns, ignoring data that naturally varies (like dates or timestamps). When duplicates are found, the newer entries are removed, keeping your original data intact.

Managing settings

You can modify or disable this feature anytime:

  1. Go to Extensions > Browse AI for Sheets > Experimental features

  2. Adjust your column selections or uncheck the auto-delete option
