How to set up and use input parameters

Input parameters let you adjust your robot's behavior without creating new robots. You can modify URLs, search terms, and form fields to make your robots more versatile.

Viewing and managing input parameters

You can view and edit your input parameters through the parameter popover, accessible from your robot's task list. The popover appears to the left of the Origin URL and includes:

  • A scrollable list of all parameters with their current values

  • Full display of long values with text wrapping and preserved whitespace

  • A copy button to quickly copy any parameter value

  • Clickable links that open in a new tab

  • Visual indicators for default values, encrypted fields, and empty values

You can also click the Origin URL directly from the Robot History tab to quickly access the source page.

What are input parameters?

Input parameters are variables you can change each time you run your robot. They automatically appear when you:

  • Enter text in form fields during training

  • Use the Origin URL field

  • Fill out search boxes

Origin URL

The Origin URL parameter tells your robot which page to start from. You can change this to:

  • Extract data from different category pages

  • Monitor various product pages

  • Scan different sections of a website

Search terms

When you use a search box during training, that term becomes a parameter. This lets you:

  • Search for different products

  • Look up various keywords

  • Query multiple terms without creating new robots

Form fields

Any text you enter in forms during training becomes adjustable, allowing you to:

  • Update date ranges

  • Change locations

  • Modify filter criteria
